It’s official, I truly believe that we are living in the last days,
Please pardon my anger, but over the last 4 months, 4 good
Men that I know, friends, brothas…have all but lost their
Children in custody battles and although they continue to
Fight I can feel their pain, I don’t have children of my own
So I can only imagine what they’re going through…
What type of world are we living in? There are commercials
On TV asking men to be fathers to their children, and women
I know who wish the fathers of their children were involved
So how does taking a child away from a WILLING father make any sense?
To all the women with children, please hear me, maybe you’re not
Interested in anything I’m saying but at least listen to this…
STOP using your children as weapons! Maybe the relationship
Between you and him didn’t go the way you wanted, maybe he
Hurt you, cheated, or maybe you’re just down right jealous because
He has someone new, but what does any of this have to do with your
Children? They’re innocent! Why should a child have to live life
Without a father if it’s unnecessary? STOP pulling your children
Through the wars of life before it’s their time! Now they’re wearing
Emotional battle scars, bruised, beaten, battered, and broken
Your negative emotions towards your child’s father and your child’s
Pain are combustible elements, ready to explode like Californium and
Sodium phosphate, burning through your child’s soul like Folic Acid
Burns through skin, in type of situation no one wins, take a moment
To use some oxygen and just breathe, before you start asking how I’m
Qualified to say all of this because there ALWAYS seems to be questions
I work at a school, and at least 10 times a week for 10 months of a year
I’m placed in these situations and of course it’s my job to keep my students
Safe, so you can imagine the predicaments I’ve been placed in
A few times I’ve had to get my hands dirty, and I can’t even count how
Many times a student has run into my office crying, you can’t begin to
Imagine how sick that makes me, I’m tired of using time explaining to
Children that their parents fighting isn’t their fault, their parents are two
Adults who understand the situation and there’s no way a child can influence
Something like that and sway it one way or the other,
I wish I was Harry Potter
Because at least it would be possible to mix a potion to fix it, but then I realized
Not even Albus Dumbledore could come up with a spell to correct it all
With all that’s world with this world, with everything that’s going on
This problem with keeping children away from their fathers could be fixed
If you scorned, hurt, and vengeful mothers could only swallow your pride
For all of the fathers out there…for you my heart is breaking….

This is not the first time Im hearing of this sort of thing. I am from the Caribbean and Jamaican women are known or infamous for stripping men o f everything they hold dear along with wiping out their bank accounts. Gone are the days when mothers wanted a father for their children. Instead we are in the day of deep set selfishness and worship of the Alimighty Dollar. I pray that God is merciful to this generation because we have so much to apologize for. I just hope we straighten up before its too late.
This is one of many things our generation will have to apologize for. The purpose of a father is to raise a man, not be a ATM/emergency free babysitter. Thank you so much for replying to this. Also I have to thank Poet Emotion for allowing me to post this here! (I should say repost it here.)
